Anecdotal evidence shows more FSBOs
I haven’t been able to confirm these numbers yet, but a press release from a large For Sale By Owner advertising site presented data showing that the number of homes being sold by owner is up signficantly. One of the sources cited was the largest maker of “For Sale By Owner” yard signs - who reported 20% growth in sales of that item in the last year.
If I can find or confirm this information from a source other than some company’s marketing department, I’ll post more details.

Our data shows that FSBO’s are stlll a very small segment of the market, and are the fastest growing segment. As the market develops and the tools offered to FSBO’s mature, we expect this growth rate to accellerate significantly.
We wave just lit our new listing engine, significantly decreasing the time and effort it takes to create a world-class listing on our site…check it out.. http://www.uscondex.com

The real estate market for home sellers has changed significantly with the development of online promotion. If FSBO home owners can effectively leverage both online and offline marketing tools they will have a leg up on most of the professional real estate agents out there.

As the Internet market grew, anyone could have sold his or her own property without the assistance of a real estate agent. Only someone who is lazy would want to spend thousands of dollars to sell their own house. Why not try before you contact a real estate agent? I think in the near future more and more people will sell their houses through the Internet. To prove my idea, I have created a website www.BlueDotHouse.com. It is 100% free. Everyone can use it and place an ad. How can it be helpful for homeowners? What do you think? Thanks.

www.HomePriceMaps.com integrates how much homes SOLD for nationwide using the google mapping technology. Simply select city and state from the city menu and click search. If you don’t see data for your area simply email HomePriceMaps@gmail.com with your zipcode and or address and they’ll update the site with your info and email you within a few days.
Are you a real estate professional looking for a way to map your listings? W e are now offering a real-estate mapping package for real estate professionals like yourself which would allow you to map and display your MLS listings and/or real estate listings on the your website.

If you can save 6-7% by selling you home FSBO then why not… More and more seller are trying it, some will find out that it’s not that easy.

Wow, a whole blog bitching about some tightasses saving a few pennies on commission to lose dollars on the price. It only works in a very hot market, and then you don’t know if doing a FSBO you potentially left out even more money by advertising on MLS.
All FSBO’s here in Austin that are successful simply wait until their street has a few for-sale-by-broker signs and put their own sign advertising their home for below market. They cannibalize the hard work of buyer’s agents who bring people to the neighborhood and sell their home for much less than they could have. Only the buyer’s win, assuming they don’t get screwed when their buyer’s agent refuses to work with the fsbo.

Please don’t take this as spam. I am blogging everyone I can to let people know about www.emongoo.com. Ok, ok so that sounds like spam, but really that is not my intent. The goal is to just let people know. The website emongoo.com is a new For Sale By Owner website that offers more ways for sellers to sell real estate and is FREE. Buyers can also search for free on www.emongoo.com. www.emongoo.com also uses web 2.0 concepts. The goal is to let everyone know that emongoo.com is there and to get feedback. Let us know what you think! emongoo.com is open to ideas and suggestions. I posted this on your blog because you have Real Estate related blog.

I have an FSBO site, and it’s ever growing. We also encourage agents too. If fact they actually make up the majority.

hi, i’m just starting the process of selling my condo (in the boston area, so it could be tough!) and the first option i am going to try is fsbo. i started my own blog about the process (http://daverin.com/serendipity/), which will continue of course even if the fsbo thing doesn’t end up working, but i’m very excited to try fsbo, and what do i have to lose? i’m not in a rush, so nothing.
and i’ll of course continue to check this and other relevant blogs.
